Introduction

Looks breed love. (一目惚れ。, Hitomebore) is the 14th episode of the first season of The Ancient Magus Bride anime.
Synopsis[]
The newly transformed Chise escapes into the forest and enjoys her new body's simple and pleasurable euphoria. However, Elias convinces her to return home and undo the curse that binds her from the fox pelt's curse. Later that night, Redcurrant visits Chise and begs that she save Joel from his condition, only to learn from Elias he doesn't have much time left on Earth.
To allow Joel to see Redcurrant before he dies, Chise decides to create Fairy Ointment, and sometime after she does, Joel is able to see and interact with her, before he dies.
Summary[]
After Ashen Eye transforms Chise into a Werebeast. She goes on to make her way through the forest before being followed and found by Ruth and Elias, both of whom are in animal forms. It was Elias stating that he'd feel cold and lonely without her at home.
Later that night, Redcurrant visits Chise in her room, begging her to save Joel. Riding on top of Ruth's back, he and Chise make their way over to Joel's house and, after magically unlocking his front door, check on the unresponsive Joel. From Chise's shadow, Elias appears and claims that Joel doesn't have long to live. His deep monologue about Joel's impending demise unnerves Redcurrant until Chise stops him.
Outside, Chise watches as Redcurrant cries in denial about her feelings for Joel, and back inside, Joel awakens and sees Elias in his human form sitting beside his bed. Elias bluntly reveals that Joel doesn't have long to live and, when asked by him, answers that Joel has a week at most, but will not suffer when he does pass away. Hearing this pleases Joel, who goes on to talk about his deceased wife and her garden. Furthermore, Joel mentions the lovely lady he once saw there. This prompts Chise to help them by creating Fairy Ointment that would allow Joel to see Redcurrant before he dies.
Chise spends the next coming days conjuring the ointment; Elias is against the idea, but doesn't stop her from doing it. Once she's finished, the apprentice gives some of it to Redcurrant, and she, in turn, uses it on Joel. The two have a heart-to-heart with the other, where Redcurrant confesses ever since Joel saw her, she's never been able to leave his side. From Joel's side, he apologizes for keeping her, but also thanks Redcurrant for loving him and asses away shortly after.
Joel's passing makes Redcurrant decide to remain at Joel's home until he comes back and conveys this to Chise and Elias, who then leave. When they return, Oberon shows up and asks for the Fairy Ointment. Chise hands it to him, but as she does, the ring suppressing her magic breaks apart, and she starts coughing up blood.
